Bali Zo is the only animal attraction in Bali that uses the word “zoo” in its name. This zoo is locally called “Kebun Binatang Bali”. It was built over 8 hectares of lush tropical gardens in Singapadu village, Gianyar regency, Bali province. The zoo is an appropriate stopover before Ubud on tours from the southern part of Bali Island.
Bali Zoo is a location for various tropical plants and an extensive collection of fauna that range from mammals, birds and reptiles. It is a convenient place because it is shady and pleasant to walk through and also offers a range of experiences, such as elephant and pony rides, photo sessions with animals, as well as outbound adventures. Since its beginning in 2002, Bali Zoo has expanded its range of services in addition to its existing daily programs. The zoo started to prepare its night attraction package in 2007 which takes visitors to observe the hundreds of animals after sunset. This “Night at The Zoo” allows you to observe large number of nocturnal animals of Bali Zoo which is carried out on Wednesday and Saturday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Bali local time, which is then concluded by a fire dance show.

The successful breeding program has resulted more than 15 tigers since 2007.
The daily programs of the zoo include feeding the animals, and if it is cute and cuddly that you are after – why don’t you head down to the petting area and snuggle with a baby monkey? The zoo staffs will assist you to take a photo or you can take photos with your own camera by yourself. All of the inhabitants are fully cared for by the veterinarians who reside there.

Bali Zoo Park has a very strategic location which is within close reach of all the main tourist centres in central Bali, with signs strategically posted just after the main Ubud-Gianyar junction. The zoo is situated within the ancient location of Singapadu village.
The zoo also offers dining facilities at the zoo that include the Elephant View Restaurant, serving Asian cuisines and is located in the middle of the zoo with an open-air view of the elephant trail and gardens. The Okavango Restaurant which is located near the entrance is a place to enjoy western selections while viewing the African lion enclosure daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
